The experienced veterinarians at Pet Vet Family Pet Care Center in Kalamazoo are here for you if your pet isn’t feeling well or if he or she is injured. Internal Medicine
We provide comprehensive internal medicine for pets with complex health problems. Our goal is to help you find the answers to your pet’s medical conditions and improve your pet’s quality of life.
Chronic Medical Conditions
We provide ongoing medical management for pets with chronic medical conditions such as gastrointestinal disease, respiratory disease, renal disease, liver disease, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases. We will perform the routine monitoring, make diet recommendations, and changes to your pet’s medications or treatments to help manage your pet’s condition.
Dermatology
Pets are prone to allergies, just like humans. Allergies, skin problems, and excessive scratching can cause significant discomfort for your pet. We will work closely with you to diagnose and treat any dermatological conditions in your pet. Our veterinarians can treat skin and ear conditions such as:

Behavior
Pet Vet Family Pet Care Center is dedicated to finding solutions to animal behavioral problems. We provide behavioral consultations, training and advice for our clients, as well as early behavior modification.
Signs to Watch for in your Pet
It is common to assume these signs are a normal part of your dog or cat’s aging process; however, they may indicate underlying disease. If you notice any of these signs in your pet, please give us a call and have your pet evaluated:
- Lethargy
- Loss of appetite, Decreased appetite
- Weight loss/gain
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Coughing
- Sneezing
- Increased drinking or urination
- Inappropriate urination or defecation (indoors)
- Limping
- Difficulty rising, walking or climbing stairs
- Itching
- Shaking head
- Foul smelling ears
- Foul breath
- Eye or nose discharge
- Minor cuts
- Wounds that are not healing
- Confusion, disorientation, anxiety or changes in sleep patterns
- New lumps or bumps
- Any other sudden or progressive change you note in your pet’s attitude or behaviors
