Fido’s Cutest New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year! As we say farewell to 2018 and welcome the new year, many people are setting personal goals for themselves. If your dog could make resolutions, what do you think his goals would look like? A local Portage, MI vet lists some of Fido’s resolutions in this article.

Eat More Bacon

Bacon is definitely at or near the top of the list of Fido’s favorite things. Your furry buddy may very well make getting as much of it as possible one of his main priorities for 2019. While it’s fine to give your dog treats, you should limit fatty snacks, like bacon.

Get My Bed Back From The Cat

Fluffy is often smaller than Fido, but that doesn’t stop her from bossing him around. We’re pretty sure that some of our canine patients would love to reclaim their comfy beds from their feline roommates in 2019!

Catch That Squirrel

Dogs are predators in the wild, and often can’t resist lunging after smaller animals. Squirrels, for some reason, almost seem to enjoy taunting Fido with you-can’t-catch-me antics.

Work On My Begging

Dogs are very animated, and know exactly what expression will best tug at our heartstrings. Fido may very well try to perfect that Feed Me I’m Starving look that works so well at getting him bacon. Don’t fall for it! After all, begging is bad petiquette.

Avoid The Vet

We do everything possible to make exams easy and comfortable for dogs. However, we know that most of our canine pals would rather be eating bacon, chasing squirrels, or watching Fluffy nap in their beds than visit us. Sorry, Fido: coming to see us is in your best interests!

Take No Baths

Hopefully, your four-legged friend won’t achieve this goal, but it probably won’t be for lack of trying. Make bath time more fun for your furry friend by getting him to associate the bathtub with treats. Call Fido into the tub, then give him a special snack and let him go.

Be Adorable

This is one objective that we suspect your canine companion will have no trouble achieving. Dogs are truly wonderful pets, and their charming mannerisms, lovable antics, and hilarious quirks are all super cute!

Happy New Year! As your local Portage, MI vet clinic, we’re dedicated to offering great pet care, and will be here for you in 2019 and beyond!
